Gifts Hexagon
Gifts Hexagon
12" x 10" x 4"
Used t-shirts, red threads, beads, marking pins, and wire, nails, and hexagon wooden frame
With my previous installation “Gift,” I expressed the mystery of meeting people at a certain time and a certain place, which do not look like coincidences. Under the same idea, using the same materials such as used t-shirts, red thread, and wire, I created flower-like elements, connected them each other, and assembled in a hexagon-shaped frame.
The shape of hexagon makes me think about the mysteries of nature. Hexagons are efficient and can fit together without gaps, which makes them ideal for storing materials like honey without wasting space and energy. I was especially interested by the theory that Hexagonal shapes in nature are created and perfectly aligned by sound vibrations.
I am inspired to think that encounters with people and human connections can be fully and excellently shaped by letting the vibrations of such natural sounds take their course.
